Upcoming change to state employees’ prescription drug plan

Beginning in January 2020, the Division of State Group Insurance (DSGI) is implementing formulary management in the State Employees’ Prescription Drug Plan (RX plan). Certain drugs will be excluded under the RX plan and will require prior authorization approval to be covered.

This October, RX plan members will be notified of prescription drug changes, and the list of drugs subject to prior authorization will be available on the CVS Caremark website. As a reminder, employees should carefully review correspondence from DSGI, People First, CVS Caremark and your health insurance plan for important details regarding changes, updates and other pertinent information.
